We are sorry to hear of the untimely death yesterday of Peter Handyside. Although never formally registered to us he turned out at youth level for a period before turning professional with Grimsby Town. In a decade at Grimsby he became club captain and played in England's 2nd tier. Moving on to Stoke he was also club captain there before finishing his time in senior football with a season at Barnsley. He also played for Northwich Victoria and Hucknall Town.
