Match Preview v Dunfermline (H) - 250223

The league leaders visit Palmerston tomorrow as we host Dunfermline Athletic in league one. The Pars currently sit five points clear at the top of the table, so travel to Dumfries full of confidence.

They claimed all three points on their last visit in September when Nikolay Todorov and Rhys Breen scored to give them a 2-0 victory. While in our one other meeting so far this season, we shared the points in a 1-1 draw. The Bulgarian striker was again ton target to cancel out Ruari Paton’s opener.

Ahead of the game, Marvin Bartley said “Since our last home game we have had mixed performances. I was proud of the players and gave them much deserved plaudits for the cup tie against Hamilton. They put in a lot of hard work and great play in against a team above us and just fell short of reaching the final.

However, for all the praise they got against Accies, I was lost for words with parts of the performance against Kelty Hearts and the error laden goals. Although we created chances, we failed to take them again, that is something that will be addressed. It was a major step back against a part time team who out fought and out worked us at times. Something that I will not accept or tolerate as the Manager of the club and the players know that.

Against, Dunfermline it’s important we put back in the efforts I saw pre Kelty game because that is the minimal standard accepted when wearing this famous shirt.

Coming up against the league leaders we know that we will have to be at our best against a team who sit top of the tree, this is where we aim to be in time so it’s a test we’re very much looking forward to”.

Pick up should be the same location as drop off. Supporters’ buses including minibuses will not be allowed to park in the Arena car park.

There are roadworks on the road into Dumfries at Heathall/ Locharbriggs.  People travelling should check Traffic Scotland website at http://trafficscotland.org/index.aspx for confirmation of any other roadworks or delays.

The catering outlets within the supporter’s areas of the ground will also be open for use. And the bar under the Alpha Solway stand will be open to both sets of supporters’ pre-match. The Snaq café with the Arena is also now open and will have a range of snacks on offer ahead of kick off.

For safety reasons, QOS have adopted a robust and thorough search policy for spectators entering the ground to ensure that ground rules and regulations are strictly adhered to, especially in relation to pyrotechnic devices and controlled containers. We would like to remind supporters that letting off smoke devices is a criminal offence, and anyone found doing so will be referred to Police Scotland which may result in a custodial sentence. Not only is it against the law, but it is also extremely dangerous and a health hazard to other spectators. All bags will be searched and spectators presenting themselves for entry may also be subject to search. Spectators who refuse to be searched by stewards will be denied entry to the ground.

Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue, this includes e cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. No persons will be admitted to the ground who are deemed to be under the influence of alcohol.

The club shop located in the Arena will be open until kick off where you can purchase our club merchandise. Including half-time draw tickets and match day programmes.

And as advised in a separate post, the Community Fridge will be open between 1300 – 1445 tomorrow for anyone wishing to use the facility, have a look around of to drop any much-needed donations.
