Queens Vs Elgin

Unfortunately the grass park at Kinross failed to stand up to the test of the weather this weekend meaning the Under 16 squad had to settle for training this Sunday.

Our U18 squad however got to complete their game on the 3g at Lochleven campus in Kinross, this the second time we have faced Elgin this season. The gane starting at a blistering pace with Queens dominating the early part of the game and found themselves 1-0 up after 3 minutes thanks to Naylor getting on the end of a Gibson corner. This quickly followed by a second  in the 15th minute by Burns, this a move that began with a Queens goalkick being played short and a 15 pass move followed to ensure a fine team goal. A third was added 10 minutes later by Gibson who cut in from the right and finished past the Elgin goal keeper. After the blistering start the young Queens side took their foot off the gas, this a learning experience the boys needed as Elgin mustered up 3 or 4 chances with 2 exceptional saves from Maxwell in the goals to maintain the score at 3-0 going into half time. Very much like the first half Queens came out at a pace and punished Elgin scoring 3 goals in 7 minutes these scored by Burns and 2 more for Naylor who completed his hatrick.

Overall a good performance and exercise for the young lads.
