Reserves Lose on Penalties at Killie

The Reserves were in Reserve League Cup action at Rugby Park today and were a little unfortunate to end up losing 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at their premiership opponents. Former Queens loanees Curtis Lyle, Iain Wilson and Dom Thomas were all playing for Killie, along with new signing Simeon Jackson.

Queens took the lead early in the second half when Connor Murray scored from the spot after Dom McMahon was fouled by Connor Johnson but Killie equalised 20 mins from time when Kyle Connell jumped highest to head home Olly McDonald's free kick.

The Reserve Cup has a penalty shoot out for a bonus point and it was the home side who took it with a 4-3 win on penalties. Abdul Osman, Connor Murray and Andy McCarthy all scored for us but Curtis Lyle saved kicks from Gary Oliver and Darren Lyon.
