It's the time of year when people are preparing to celebrate the Festive season but we are aware that not everyone is in a position to enjoy the festivities in the same way as others can. 

Therefore in the lead up to our home game against Dunfermline on the 15th December we will be supporting the First Base Agency foodbank collection.  Use of foodbanks is increasing daily and charity organisations such as the Dumfries based, First Base Agency rely heavily on donations.  We want to play our part by helping them, help those in need across our Community. 

We are urging Queens supporters to play their part too, so for the next week we will have a collection point in the Queen of the South Arena for people to leave their donations.

A wide variety of items are required, while they accept all food items, they are in desperate need of cereal, tinned soup, pasta, rice, lentils or other pulses, pasta sauces, tinned meats, tinned fish, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit, pet food, tea, coffee, UHT milk and fruit juices.  Foodbanks also supply non food items and therefore require toiletries and hygiene products to help people in crisis maintain their dignity.
