Falkirk Match Preview

We are back at Palmerston for another big game tomorrow evening, when Falkirk visit in the Championship. We picked up two good results against them in the first half of the season, with a four - one win at the Falkirk Stadium in August and a four - two victory the last time we meet in Dumfries. However, the Bairns turned things around and edged us out by the odd goal in five back in December.

It's a big game for both teams in terms of league placing.

As we prepare for the game, Manager Gary Naysmith has been sharing his thoughts.

“Our last couple of games have been frustrating in the fact that we have played well in certain periods of each of the matches, but when we have conceded a goal, we have lost a second one shortly after, and find ourselves with way too much to do to get back into the game. Saturday’s game was a perfect example.

We weren't at our best during the first half at East End Park but our second half performance merited us getting something. Although we lost a goal in injury time to make it three - one, I'd rather lose a goal having a go than lose two - one, not having a go.

We now sit four points outside the play-offs with five games to go, and whilst it's going to be extremely difficult for us to finish in the top four, there are still fifteen points to play for and we will be giving it our best shot to take all fifteen between now and the end of the season starting against Falkirk.

We have a decent record against Falkirk this season, with two wins and a defeat so far, however previous results go for nothing and we need to make sure that we are at the top of our game for the full 90 minute if we want to gain another victory.

Paul has had a big turnaround of players in his short spell in charge at Falkirk. He has recruited well in January which has resulted in them being on a good run of form. Falkirk know that a win against us would move them to within two points of us in the table with two games in hand so there is no bigger incentive for them to try and get a win. However we also know that a win for us takes us eight points clear of Falkirk and that is what we will be trying to achieve.

Unfortunately we are still without Stephen Dobbie, Ross Fergusson, Alan Martin and Owen Bell through injury and Lyndon Dykes also misses out through suspension”.

Entry to the match will be by ticket only. Prices are: Adult £16, OAP's £9, U-16's £5, Adult accessible £8, Concession accessible £5, U16 accessible £3 and will be available for both sets of supporters from the usual kiosks in the Arena and Rosefield Stand prior to kick off. Turnstiles will open at 7pm.

Visiting fans will be located in the Rosefield Stand as normal in section six and seven. Supporters should enter the stadium via turnstile three. Wheelchair access for away supporters is on the south side of Rosefield stand. There is a layby on King Street for vehicles to drop their passengers for flat access to the ground. Disabled parking is available on the north side of the Rosefield Stand. The cost of entry of one personal assistant is included in the price of the accessible ticket.

As well as catering facilities within the ground, the Arena café will be open prior to kick off.

There will be on-street parking restrictions, therefore it is suggested that buses/minibuses drop off their passengers in Terregles St/King Street and thereafter park on College Mains road just off the roundabout with the A76 on the town bypass (adjacent to Curry's/PC World, as the other side at Aldi is the access road to the ambulance depot and is extremely busy). Pick up should be the same location.

Please note that there are gas works taking place in the Locharbriggs/ Heathhall area of the town and this will have an impact on anyone travelling to the ground from that side, including those coming off the motorway at Moffat.

QOS have adopted a robust search policy for spectators entering the ground to ensure that ground rules and regulations are strictly adhered to. Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue. This includes e cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. All spectators are requested to abide by our unacceptable behaviour policy.

The SLO Committee have selected The Veterans Garden, Dumfries as their charity for this game.

The match has a 7.45pm kick off.
