Livingston Match Preview

After a spell of away games, we made a return to Palmerston on Tuesday in the Cup and this weekend we are back home for the visit of Livingston in the Championship. David Hopkin's side have started well in the division and currently sit fourth in the table, just a point above us, so we go into the game knowing that no matter results elsewhere a victory would take us into the top four.

Manager Gary Naysmith looks ahead to the game.

"It's the start of another busy week for us with three big games in the space of seven days. As I keep stating, the Championship table is still very congested but we are approaching the period where the games come thick and fast and We need to make sure that we keep picking up points to keep us in the mix at the top end of the table.

I was delighted to progress in the Scottish Cup on Tuesday night. Montrose gave a really good account of themselves in both games, just as I knew they would, but in cup ties it's all about getting the result and I was pleased with the way the lads dug in after conceding a goal on the stroke of half-time. That undoubtedly gave Montrose a lift but I think we just shaded it over the 90 minutes. Partick Thistle await us next and that gives us all something to look forward to in January.

As soon as the final whistle went on Tuesday night we turned our attentions and our full concentration back to the league. We are on a decent run just now and Momentum is a wonderful thing in football. Players perform much better when they have a confidence about them and I can see from the training at the moment that the boys are enjoying themselves.

Our game against Livingston will be a tough one. I have to confess that I was surprised that Livingston started the season so well after their promotion from League One, but after playing against them, I am not surprised that they have stayed in and around the top four in the table all season. They are a good side, very fit and well-organised. Our game at their place in September was a cracker, with four goals shared between us, and I can see this one being the same.

Thanks again for your continued support and enjoy the game."

We have a few players carrying knocks from Tuesday nights game so we will have to wait and see how they are. Dan Carmichael is still injured and will be unavailable but Jason Kerr and Chris Kane are available again and make a return to the squad.

Saturday's game sponsored by Metrik kicks off at 3pm.
