Update from the Manager

We are all bitterly disappointed after losing such a massive game on Tuesday night.  It hurt then and it still hurts now, I’d say it’s probably the worst in terms of leaving me feeling low and angry during my short time in management.

The players just didn’t turn up and seemed to play as individuals, hoping to be “alright”, but I’m afraid “alright” isn’t good enough. We did play with more energy during the second half but by then we are two goals down.  The performance wasn’t acceptable and it would be hard to award anyone pass marks.  They have to earn the right to be selected for games, and if the performance on Tuesday is anything to go by then not one of them can complain if they’re not in the team for Saturday.

A decent team performance against Rangers, was followed by the disappointing result away at Falkirk and then a hard fought win over Hibernian, which again came undone with the showing at Raith, just an example of the inconsistency that has plagued us this season and left us scratching our head.

We need to remain positive, the season isn’t over by a long shot, we’ve shown we can compete, it’s important we dig deep and stick together, roll up the sleeves and bounce back by getting all three points on Saturday.

We can’t afford any more slip ups, so we need to put the disappointment behind us, move on and go for the maximum.

Mark Millar is available for selection again following his one match suspension, so we should have a full squad to choose from for the trip to Paisley.
