Update from the Manager

Last weekend's win at Livingston was extremely pleasing.  The players returned from the festive period in good shape and turned in a professional performance. We dominated much of the game and it proved to be a comfortable win.  We said before the game it was the first in an important month for us so to come away with both a win and a performance was very pleasing.

The result and results elsewhere moved us back to within touching distance of the top four and I think if we can maintain the same level for the rest of the season then we can reach our aim.

This weekend we take a break from the league, as we travel to Dumbarton in the Scottish Cup. It's the first of back to back trips to face them as we're back there in the league next week.  While it’s not ideal playing a team from the same division we've got to look upon it as an opportunity to progress.

It won't be easy as Dumbarton are a good well organised side, they might be part time but they have quality within their ranks.  They have players that we were interested in signing during the summer but they choose part time football.  We have beaten them twice this season already, although we may have been fortunate the last time, so although it will be difficult we will be going all out to make it three wins from three.

Calum Tapping is back in full training and getting nearer to making a return, but we will take our time and won't rush him back as we don't want to lose him again.  Dale Hilson saw a specialist yesterday (Thurs) - he can now move from the gym work he's been doing and start doing more weight bearing training which is pleasing, but he'll be a few weeks yet.  And Paul Heffernan hasn’t yet recovered from his injury so he remains side-lined.  But all the rest of the boys are fit and free from suspension so available for selection.
