This weekend has seen the start of ‘Football Remembers Week’.  Over the course of this week there is a series of events organised across the UK to commemorate one of the most iconic moments of the First World War, the 1914 Christmas Truce football matches.

To celebrate the spirit of the Christmas Truce football matches of 1914, football teams across the UK have participated in pre-match group photographs taken together and uploaded them via social media with the hashtag #FootballRemembers.

All 22 players and the match officials had their picture taken together prior to kick-off yesterday.  You’ll also be able to see the photo at the website FootballRemembers.com.
