McIntyre: A fair result

Jim McIntyre believes a draw was a fair result following Saturday’s game with Livingston.

Queens took the lead through a Kyle Jacobs own goal but a second half Livingston penalty – which was scored by Jordan White – denied McIntyre’s men all three points.

But the Queens gaffer had no issues with the Referee following James Fowler’s red card and the penalty decision.

He said: “We didn’t have the end product and when you have an afternoon like that I’m glad to take a point.

“In comparison to the first half I thought it was night and day with the tempo and the opportunities created.

“We were missing a final bit of quality which we’ve had in previous weeks when we’ve been excellent. We got in to some great areas and the final ball let us down.

“I’m not disappointed with the result after the way the second half has went but I’ve got no complaints - it’s a penalty.

“When we went down to ten men I had confidence that the back four would be able to help us see it out. You also need your goalkeeper to make a few saves and he did that for us.

“I was pleased we managed to keep the unbeaten run going albeit it’s a home game where we’ve been one goal up. I don’t think we’ve done enough to win the game and a point is fair.”

Queens travel to play Livingston on Tuesday in the League Cup in a 7:45pm kick-off.
