Our under 17s are back in action tonight as they head to Petershill to take on Partick Thistle in the CAS League. We are very much TEAM JAMIE this evening as twins Jamie and William Carvel go up against each other in the “Carvel Derby” with Jamie playing for ourselves while William is at Partick. Kick-off 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, the other night the under 19s were knocked out of the Potts Cup as they lost their quarter final tie 2-1 at home to Abbey Vale. The visitors took the lead before Anthony Harris pulled one back only for Vale to score a second to hold a half-time lead.  With the second half goal-less it was Vale who made it into the last four.

Coach Eddie Warwick said “The lads are disappointed to go out the competition. We didn’t play poorly as we showed plenty effort, had most possession and controlled much of the game but we weren’t clinical enough in the final third to turn the pressure into goals.  We knew they’d carry a threat and that it would be at hard game unfortunately, we gave away cheap possession and they have hit on the counter and got their goals. However, we take part in these cup competitions to introduce the young lads to men’s football as it is very different from the development league we play in weekly and they don’t get many opportunities to play against older teams.  Therefore, it’s a game they can learn from and it will help them moving forward. Credit to Abbey Vale and we wish them well in the next round.”

The under 19s are back in action on Tuesday night when they host Ayr United in the league. The game at Palmerston will kick-off at 7.30pm.
