Match Information v Montrose - 29th Aug (A)

Aug 28 2026 11:22

After our midweek victory in the KDM Trophy we head to Montrose tomorrow looking for our first win in league one.

The two sides last met for our final home game of last season when it ended in a two all draw.  Euan Loudon and Taylor Sutherland scored to give Montrose a two-goal lead but we fought back and goals from Brennan Dickenson and the goal of the season from Benji Luissint earned us the point. On our last visit to Links Park the home side edged it by three goals to two.

While we haven’t made the start in the league that we had hoped, Montrose have lost three of their four games but sit eighth in the table after a good three-nil home win over East Kilbride last weekend, thanks to a first half double from Gary Oliver and a goal just after the hour mark from Harry Craig.

Ahead of the game tomorrow, Queens boss Nicky Clark said “This is a massive game for us as we know it hasn’t been good enough in the league. It probably looks worse because it's the first three games of the season and that makes it more noticeable but we need to start picking up points. We know it will be tough at Montrose, as every game is, they had a very good result against East Kilbride last week so we know it won’t be easy but we go there on the back of a win and will be looking to build on that.”
