The Under 19s returned to league action this evening with a trip to the astro pitches at McDiarmid Park, Perth to face St Johnstone.
It was a slow start by the boys and the home side took then lead after quarter of an hour. Eleven minutes before the break Queens equalised when Billy Gray scored after fine play from Josh Kelly.
Half Time: St Johnstone 1 Queens 1
As the second half got underway Saints immediately regained the lead. But again Queens hit back and levelled again with 52 minutes on the clock when Kelly headed home a well taken free kick by captain Taylor Davidson.
Gray scored a quick fire double to complete his hat-trick on the hour mark to give Queens a four-two lead.
Five minutes later Ayden Ashraf did well and set up Kelly who scored his second of the night, Queens fifth. But the night belonged to Gray who added another to take his tally to four and to stretch the lead.
The hosts pulled one back with five minutes remaining to reduce the deficit and round off the scoring.

Coach Eddie Warwick said “We are delighted with the result. We didn’t make a good start but the boys responded well particularly in the second half after a change in system and they deserve full credit for their performance.”
