Victory for U17s over Alloa

Apr 3 2026 22:26

The 17s welcomed Alloa to Palmerston this evening for their first post split fixture.

Both sides struggled to find a rhythm at the start but Queens took the lead through Lewis White when his effort from the edge of the box dipped into the far corner following fine wide play by Dylan Craig. However, the lead lasted only 90 seconds as slackness from the hosts allowed the visitors to level.

Half Time: Queens 1 Alloa 1

Just two minutes after the restart, Lucas Jones scored with a calm right foot effort. And Frankie Hodgson got on the end of a through ball from William Salfenmoser to add a third with a superb finish. It was provider Salfenmoser who rounded off the scoring when he accepted White’s pass and slotted the ball beneath the keeper.

Coach Ross Newlands said "The boys were asked to up their energy levels and improve on the a ball for the second half as the first half was below our expectations both in and out of possession. The boys took onboard what we asked of them and delivered a very convincing and pleasing performance.”

The u17s now look forward to their next game at home to Greenock Morton a week on Sunday.
