Sport Scientist Required

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Sport Scientist and/or strength & conditioning coach to join the club.

This is initially a voluntary position that offers a great chance to work and gain invaluable experience within a professional football club.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Management team and the first team squad, being integral to the day-today training, leading sessions, and creating/continuing the fitness programme within the squad.

The main aim is to enable the applicant to deliver warm up/warm down, sprint work, plyometric sessions and other forms of training, for the players every morning (depending on availability) within the training week. We also require the players to perform a number of gym-based sessions which will encompass the applicants remit to.

We will also require the applicant to be sufficiently adept with our GPS System which is currently the Catapult One System https://one.catapultsports.com/gb/catapult-one-team-soccer/. Training will be provided and guided by the first team staff if needed.

 

The position would be mainly based at our Hamilton Palace Sports training ground for the majority of the week with one day dedicated to training in Palmerston Park.

Working Hours during the week: 0900- 1300 (flexible) 

Weekend Hours (match days): 1300 - 1700

 

The successful applicant should be open to new challenges, have a zest to learn and be involved in practical sessions. It is a great opportunity to gain experience as two previous trainees have gone on to gain positions within Premiership teams.
