Match Preview v Clyde - 26th Aug

Aug 25 2025 11:38

Our KDM Evolution Trophy matches continue tomorrow when we welcome Clyde to Palmerston for the first of our home games in the competition.

Both sides go into the game on the back of draws in their respective leagues, as we fought out a goalless draw at Stenhousemuir on Saturday, The Bully Wee came from behind to take a point with a one all draw at Stranraer. The draw leaves them 7th in league two on two points, with two draws and two defeats from their opening four league matches.

The teams have made a similar start to the KDM Trophy, tomorrow’s opponents lost 3-1 at home to Celtic B in their first game, while it was the same scoreline as we were beaten by East Kilbride at K Park.

Ahead of the match, Manager Peter Murphy said “We picked up a good point at Stenhousemuir on Saturday but we felt that we can play better. This is an extra game that we don’t need but it’s a competitive match that we have to play so we will go out and compete to the best of our ability. We will look at who is available and we might make changes and bring in a couple of the young players again. Clyde are a division below but we have faced teams from league two already this season and we found it very difficult. I have no doubt that they will be up for the game and will dig in and make it tough.”
