Everyone at Queen of the South is saddened to hear of the death of our former Press Officer Bill Goldie.

Bill had been battling Alzheimer's for some time and passed away this morning around 9am. He was well known in Dumfries from his long career in printing and was the first person appointed to the role of Press Officer at Queen of the South following the Norman Blount takeover in the 1990's. He continued in the role through the early days of the website era and was still Press Officer at the time of the Scottish Cup Final and UEFA Cup entry. Even as his illness progressed he continued to attend Palmerston for some time with support from his family. His brother in law Steve still helps out at Palmerston on matchdays.

All our thoughts are with Bill's family and friends. Rest in peace.
