Welcome - Jake Hutchinson

Manager Marvin Bartley has today secured the permanent transfer of striker Jake Hutchinson from Colchester United on a 2-year deal.

At 21, Jake joined Colchester Academy 3 years ago from Brighton and Hove Albion. He has made his way up through their youth system and gained experience of senior football by going out on loan. He spent the first half of last season with Eastbourne where he scored 14 goals in his time there before making another step up to the National Leagues and spent the latter part of the campaign at Aldershot.

The Gaffer said “Jake comes to us with a very good reputation of scoring goals. He has worked his way up through the levels and has a proven goalscoring record at each one. He is over six foot tall so gives us other attacking options. We have had our eye on him, so I’m delighted that he has finally joined the squad.”

Jake himself added “I’m really looking forward to getting started. It’s all new for me, a new team, and a new league so I can’t wait to get stuck into it and try and do my best to help the team succeed.”

Jake has been allocated squad number 14 and subject to International clearance will be in the squad for the visit of Montrose tomorrow.
