Reserves Edge Out Lochmaben

The reserve squad hosted Lochmaben in their latest friendly fixture last night.

The first half was disappointing and scrappy, with neither side getting into any sort of rhythm. The young QoS side were wasteful in possession and created little. Lochmaben probably were the better side in the opening period and may be disappointed that they did not take a lead into the interval. However, a change of shape at half time saw Queens start the second period much brighter and a great goal from Lewis Gibson, catching the goalkeeper out from wide gave them the lead. This was followed up when Gibson's assist allowed Cammy Shaw to put QoS two up. They were comfortable for the most of the rest of the game but Lochmaben worked hard and got their reward with a late penalty kick which saw the game finish in a 2-1 victory for QoS.

Manager Wullie Gibson was very disappointed in the first half showing but said, "The boys showed good character and responded well in the second half. We would like to thank Lochmaben for the game and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season."
