As Manager Allan Johnston continues to construct his squad for the new season, we have today signed goalkeeper Josh Rae. The 20-year-old who had a brief spell with us last season when he joined as emergency cover has signed a year long deal and heads south from Peterhead.

Born in Croy Josh moved to Peterhead after trials with West Brom and Sunderland. He started his youth career with Hamilton and was also a youth player at Celtic and Leeds United until 2019. Before playing under Jim McInally at Balmoor Stadium he played a few games for Cowdenbeath.

Following the signing AJ said “Josh is a player who knows the club having been involved last season. His time at Peterhead was halted due to covid but he was benefiting from playing regular football. He is quiet but confident and has the correct stature for a goalkeeper so we are happy that he has become a permanent member of the squad”.
