QoS Reserves 0 - 1 St Mirren Reserves

Queens reserves were narrowly beaten 1-0 by St Mirren at Palmerston this afternoon. The visitors enjoyed the bulk of possession without creating too many clear chances but made the breakthrough not long after half time when a defensive error let Josh Jack in to tuck the ball away from close range. Queens did press for an equaliser but missed their best chance midway through the second period when a three on two break saw Connor Potts attempt to chip the St Mirren keeper who was able to block. Craig Burns made a couple of late saves to keep  the score at 1-0.

Manager Wullie Gibson said, "It was a game that was decided by an individual error and there wasn't a massive amount between the two teams. I felt we sat off them too much in the first half but we played with a higher tempo in the second half and caused them more problems. The boys did well considering they have played two games in three days. It was a very young side with two trialists and 4 boys out of school involved but a big difference from my first game in charge when they battered us and were 4-0 up in the first 20 minutes."
