Centenary/Hall of Fame Dinner

As many of you are already aware 2019 is a special year for the Club as we celebrate our Centenary.

To mark the occasion we are arranging a special dinner at the Cairndale Hotel on Saturday the 23rd of March, when we will be combining our 100th birthday meal with our next Hall of Fame event.  This year we intend to induct five popular figures, four have already been chosen by the Club with the final place being opened up for the fans to vote.

Four men; Jackie Oakes, Billy McLaren, Stephen Dobbie and Jim McCormick have all been long servants to the Club over the years and therefore have been selected by the Club for induction.

Jackie and Stephen have proved they are worthy inductees based on the number of goals they have scored for the Club, while Billy spent a long time at Palmerston as both a player and manager and was instrumental in setting up the Club's youth policy that brought in revenue through the sale of Andy Thomson, David Lilley and Jamie McAllister who all came through the ranks and went on to "bigger"clubs. And Jim has been recognised for his life-long support of the club.

We believe they are all worthy inductees.

In addition we will also be inducting a fifth person this year.  That person will come from a public vote from a shortlist of eleven.  The list has been drawn up based on the number of goals they scored for the club or on the number of appearances they made, some both. Supporters will have the chance to cast their votes in the New Year but here's a list of those who they will be able to vote for once the voting process opens:-

Goalkeeper - Alan Davidson

Defenders - Dougie Sharpe, Andy Aitken, Crawford Boyd & Nobby Clark

Midfielders:  Lex Law, John O'Neill & John Dempster

Forwards:  Stevie Mallan, Ian Reid & Rowan Alexander

Details of how to vote will be announced in due course.  We will also be issuing details of how to purchase your tickets for the event.  Prices have been set at £45 per head, £450 for a table.
