Inverness Caledonian Thistle Match Preview

This weekend Inverness Caledonian Thistle are the visitors to Dumfries for our penultimate home game of the 2017/18 Championship season .

Matches between the two sides so far this season have resulted in two goal-less draws and a victory for Inverness at the Caledonian Stadium in January.

As he prepares the side, Manager Gary Naysmith reflects on our midweek game against Falkirk and looks ahead to the visit of John Robertson's side.

"Tuesday's game against Falkirk epitomised our season really.

In almost every game we have played this season, we have done really well in certain stages of each match but not for the complete 90 minutes and Tuesday's match was very similar. I thought we were off the pace for the first 30 minutes or so and then we finished the first half well.

Our second half performance was very good, as was our second half performance away to Dunfermline, and we deservedly went two - one ahead. Unfortunately we couldn't hold onto our lead, and this has been the case far too often this season which has been both disappointing and frustrating for not only the staff and players, but I'm sure for the fans as well.

The lads did however show fantastic spirit to come back from a goal down and they deserve credit for that, but when we get in front, especially at home, we should be seeing games out. A draw was not really good enough for us at this stage of the season and with Dunfermline and Dundee United winning on Tuesday, it means that the play offs are no longer in our own hands and we are relying on other teams slipping up.

However, the season is not over for us yet, and we will keep going and try to pick up as many points as we can in the remaining four games and see where it takes us.

This weekend, I am expecting nothing other than a really tough game. John has assembled a good squad of players who are currently playing well, and they will go into the game with confidence after their recent good run of results which have included an Irn Bru Cup success.

We are minus Stephen Dobbie, Ross Fergusson, Owen Bell and Alan Martin but have Lyndon Dykes available again after he severed his suspension".

Visiting supporters should note that they will be located in section six of the Rosefield Salvage Stand and that they should enter via turnstile three.

Entry is by ticket only. The home ticket office will be open for use of both home and away supporters and is situated adjacent to Rosefield Stand turnstile numbers one and two. In addition, supporters who choose to park in the Arena car park have access to a ticket office within the Arena.

Ticket prices are: Adult £16, OAP's £9, U-16's £5, Adult accessible £8, Concession accessible £5, U16 accessible £3.

Wheelchair access for away supporters is on the south side of Rosefield stand. There is a layby on King Street for vehicles to drop their passengers for flat access to the ground. Disabled parking is available on the north side of the Rosefield Stand. The cost of entry of one personal assistant is included in the price of the accessible ticket.

The catering outlet in the Rosefield home end will be available for use of away supporters. Catering is also available in the Arena café where a full menu is available before kick-off.

There will be on-street parking restrictions in place, therefore it is suggested that buses/minibuses drop off their passengers in Terregles St/King Street and thereafter park on College Mains road just off the roundabout with the A76 on the town bypass (adjacent to Curry's/PC World, as the other side at Aldi is the access road to the ambulance depot and is extremely busy). Pick up should be the same location.

Please note that there is major roadworks planned for the A701 road at Heathhall near Dumfries that has the potential to cause severe delays for visiting supporters travelling to the match. It is suggested that you leave in plenty of time to negotiate this roadworks.

QOS have adopted a robust search policy for spectators entering the ground to ensure that ground rules and regulations are strictly adhered to. Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue. This includes e cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. All spectators are requested to abide by our unacceptable behaviour policy.

The match will be sponsored by BDS Group. Our gold and silver ball sponsors are, Galloglas Security and Logistics Ltd and PTS respectively.

The SLO Charity of the day is "Let's Get Biking Dumfries and Galloway". An accessible cycle group who offer safe cycling sessions to children and adults who have additional needs.

Their original aim was to fundraise for a power assisted wheelchair tricycle and a power assisted side by side tandem however after a taster session in August 2017, when 20 adults approximately tried out a range of specialised bikes, they realised there was a lot of interest and that more bikes would be required and a greater selection to suit all ages and abilities.

Power assisted cycles are required for people who have poor muscle tone as this supports them to achieve beneficial exercise themselves and for wheelchair users so they can experience biking supported by an able bodied partner. However the cost of a specialised bike, is approximately £7500, which makes purchase out of reach for most families. Therefore their aim now is to raise enough money to purchase and provide a good selection and number of bikes so that individuals, families and groups can access these rather than applying for individual funding themselves.

The group will be holding a fund-raising bucket collection prior to kick off.

Our mascot for the game which kicks off at 3pm on Saturday will be Murron Champion.
