Dumbarton Match Preview

We kick off 2018 with a home game tomorrow (Tues 2nd Jan) as Dumbarton visit Palmertson.  The two games between us this season so far have been tight.  Callum Fordyce scored the only goal of the game to give us a one - nil win back in August and we shared four goals up at Dumbarton in November.  After a disappointing end to 2017, Queens Boss Gary Naysmith is looking for a positive start to the New Year.

"Happy New Year everyone.

We seem to be beating ourselves just now, I didn’t think there was a lot in the game against Falkirk, it was the goals that we gave away.  The first two were from set plays that we haven’t dealt with and that’s a concern for us as it’s happened in the last couple of weeks, individuals losing players inside the box so it needs to improve.

I still don’t understand why we weren't awarded a penalty when Chris Kane was brought down inside the box, I think if we had got that we still had half an hour to go and we created chances we could’ve got back into it. But at the end of the day we have gifted Falkirk the game with our inability to defend set plays in the first half.

We have scored ten goals but conceded eight in our recent games so with ratios like that games are in the balance, we need to get back defending well as it’s just not happening, we seem easy to score against just now.  We scored too late to make them nervy and it’s frustrate as we are beating ourselves we haven’t been out played by either St Mirren or Falkirk but we’ve came away with nothing from our last two games so we need to look at that.

Tomorrow we have another tough game, as I've said on here before I am a great admirer of the work that Stevie has done as a Manager, he always recruits hard working players and has them well organised.

We still have Callum Fordyce, Kyle Jacobs, Jordan Marshall and Dan Carmichael missing through injury and James McFadden's short term contract has expired".

The game kicks off at 3pm.

Supporters should note that turnstile 16 will not be open tomorrow and home fans entering from the East Side should use Rosefield Stand entrances one and two.
