The Week Ahead

With clubs, school visits etc going on at the Club we have taken the decision to issue "The Week Ahead" bulletin to keep fans up-to-date of what's going on at the Club. So here's what's happening this week:-

 

MONDAY - 13th Feb

Walking Football – An opportunity at the Queen of the South Arena for the over 50’s to keep fit and active by taking part in the Club’s walking football programme.  For an hour from 10am for just £3.00 you can pop in and join other like- minded people who still want to play the game at a more leisurely pace.

Pound to Play -  later in the day at the Queen of the South Football Academy at the King George the Fifth Park, kids have the chance to play football.  For not much more than the cost of a standard bar of chocolate they can play under the watchful eye of our Community coaches when they’ll be on site to provide an hour’s programme between four o’clock and five for just a pound. 

 

TUESDAY- 14th Feb

During the day the Club will be running their Why Try Programme a resilience education curriculum that provides simple hands-on solutions to try to keep school kids on the right path and to help prevention of dropout, violence and truancy as well as increasing their academic success.

Media Day – members of the media have been invited to attend the first part of training to gather video and photographs of the squad preparing for our Irn Bru cup semi-final against Dundee United.  Reporters will also have the chance to speak to the manager and players at the end of the session.

In the evening – MATCH DAY – for the Under 20 side when they take on ALBION ROVERS at Palmerston.  Kick off 7.30pm.

 

WEDNESDAY- 15th Feb

Wednesday clubs for pre and primary school kids.  Pre-school club starts at half past three until quarter past four for just £3.50.  The club then opens for those at Primary school from four until half past five for just £5.00.

 

THURSDAY- 16th Feb

The Community team have two school visits, they’ll be at Ae Primary School from 10am for an hour before heading to Heathhall Primary in the afternoon from three until four.

In the evening the Football Fans in Training programme continues from half past six.  Under the guidance of professionals, supporters meet in the Palmerston Lounge where they’ll be given advice on how to maintain a healthy diet before they head over to the gym at the KGV.

 

FRIDAY- 17th Feb

A busy day with School Visits, Girls Club and a game!

The Community team kick start the day with a visit to Duncow Primary School between 9 -10.30 before they hold the Girls Club between four and five for just £4.  And then it’s MATCH DAY 2 for the Under 20’s as they have their second game of the week when they take on ABBEY VALE at Palmerston in the South of Scotland Challenge Cup at seven o’clock.

 

SATURDAY- 18th Feb

MATCH DAY!!!

All building up to our Irn Bru Cup semi-final against DUNDEE UNITED.  The guys kick off their bid to reach a national cup final at quarter past five.  Tickets will be available from the usual outlets during the week or can be purchased from the ticket booths prior to kick off. Or check out our social media pages (Facebook and Twitter) where you have the chance to WIN a family ticket for the game.

Come along and create an atmosphere and roar the boys into a final.

 

Don’t forget the Club shop within the Arena and the Arena café are open throughout the week. And the facilities at the Arena and the KGV are also available to book.
