Under 20's Squad Takes Shape With New Signings

The u20 squad will shortly be back from their summer break ready for a new season in the Development League again. Owen Moxon, Dean Brotherston, Jack Brannan and Jack Leighfield will be training full time with the first team as part of the Barflies sponsored apprentice scheme but will remain eligible for 20's football of course. In addition, players returning from last season's squad are:

Owen Bell, Cameron Copland, Rhys Evans, Jay McInally, Connor Murray, Richard Murray, Ryan Nelson, Ayrton Sonkur and Adam Uphill.

The following players have moved up from last year's u17's to full time 20's contracts: Ewan Gourlay, Sam Henderson, Robbie Miller, Jake Thompson and Bailey White. Declan Tremble will also be signing but will be loaned out to Heston Rovers for next season on a Development Loan.

And 20's coach Eddie Warwick has this week agreed terms for two new signings for the group. 18 year old Robbie Hogg, from Annan, will sign when his present contract at Creetown expires. Robbie was on the books of Kilmarnock until recently and signed with Creetown to keep his fitness up to the end of the season. He is a forward. Meanwhile returning to the fold after a year out of football will be Ross Fergusson. 19 year old Ross came through our Club Academy programme and was a part of the 20's setup in season 2014/15 but took a year away from football to concentrate on his college studies. We are delighted to welcome him back.

Coach Eddie Warwick said, "I'm delighted to get Robbie and Ross in for next season, they should add a lot to the strong group we already have here and of course we know all about the qualities Ross has already. The main group of boys are a year older and wiser now and they know what it's about. We'll be looking for them to push on now and one or two of them may force their way into Gavin's thoughts for the first team. At the same time the younger ones coming in will get the time to develop and try to make themselves a regular part of the 20's team. A few of them have had a taste already and young Bailey White was a substitute in the South of Scotland Challenge Cup Final down at Galabank last month. I'm looking ahead to a great season and can't wait to get started."
