Clark reflects on Livingston game

Zander Clark couldn’t hide his disappointment following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Livingston.

The Queens ‘keeper made some great saves to deny Livingston all three points at Palmerston but it was the second half penalty decision which played on his mind.

He said: “I’m here to make the saves but I was disappointed at costing the team three points with the penalty decision.

“It’s one of these situations where the ball has come through and it’s a split second decision. I’ve thought I could go and get the ball and I’ve made the wrong decision and the referee has given the penalty.

“My only argument I have with the decision is whether or not the player is going to get the ball after I’ve came out my goal. It’s over and done with now so we’ll forget it and pick ourselves up and move on.

“For us to go down to ten men and take a point after all the chances they’ve had is a good result.”

Clark expressed his delight at the unbeaten start Queens have had to their Championship campaign and he hopes the momentum can be carried over in to tomorrow night’s League Cup clash with Livingston.

He said: “We’ve had a great start with seven points out of nine and with the ‘big three’ coming in to the league we knew we would have to take points from the teams who finished around us last year.

“We have to take every game as it comes but we can take some positives from the game on Saturday because we knew we weren’t firing on all cylinders but Tuesday is a different game.”
