There have been many epic matches, over the years and just recently we fought out a goal-less draw in a pre-season friendly match at Palmerston.

One former player who enjoyed those encounters more than most was Steven Leslie, now a well-known publican in the town.

Recalls Steven, "Yes, I remember one particular game against Hearts in round two of the League Cup in 1999.

"I think the crowd was in the region of four and a half thousand and I netted the opener in the first half.

But the `Jam Tarts` grabbed three goals in the second period and won comfortable in the end".

The Queens line up that night was: Hillcoat, Lilley, Kerr, Rowe, Aitken, Cleeland, Harvey, Leslie, Adams, Mallan and Caldwell".
