A single goal midway through the first half was enough to win last night`s Development League match against Morton.

This was a close contest overall with both teams playing good attractive counter-attacking football. However Queens grabbed the only goal of the game on 32 minutes when Josh Scott broke down the wing and delivered a fine cross to the back post area where Dean Smith smashed a shot high into the roof of the net. Queens had opportunities to extend their lead but lacked the final pass at times or were thwarted by dogged Morton defending. However, in the end Queens saw the game out reasonably comfortably with Jim Atkinson only really having one shot of note to deal with.

The next Development League fixture is again at Palmerston when Queen`s Park come calling on Monday night. Kick off is due to be 7:30pm.
