Clark & Carmichael Up for Player of the Year Awards

Congratulations are due to top scorer Nicky Clark and winger Danny Carmichael who were both named today in the four man short-list for the PFA Scotland Second Division Player of the Year. They will be up against Brechin City forward Andy Jackson and Arbroath forward Steven Doris in the final tally up.

The last Queen of the South player to win a divisional Player of the Year award was John O`Neill back in 2002 when we last won the Second Division. Stephen Dobbie made the nominee list for First Division Player of the Year in both 2008 and 2009 but was beaten to the titles by Graham Dorrans and Leigh Griffiths respectively, both of Livingston at the time.

Everyone at the club wishes the best of luck to both players at the PFA Scotland Awards dinner on May 5th when the winners will be announced. Also revealed on that night will be the nominated divisional "Team of the Season" which will undoubtedly contain several other Queens players.
