Sorry for the delay in bringing the report from Friday’s under 17 match at home to Kelty Hearts.
Queens fell to a home defeat against a physical Kelty side. The first half hour was one to forget as the away side raced into a three-goal lead. As they looked to get back into the game, Queens were awarded a penalty but were surprised when the defender wasn't sent off for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity. What wasn’t a surprise was William Salfenmoser converted to reduce the deficit at the interval.
Half Time: Queens 1 Kelty Hearts 3
Over the course of the second half Queens tried to gain more control of the match, but it was Kelty who scored again to regain a three goal advantage. However, Queens' quality improved and they scored twice in the last five minutes as Salfenmoser scored again and Jamie Carvel grabbed the other.
