It was a good start to the CAS Cup group matches for the Under 19s tonight, as they beat Alloa 3-0 at Palmerston.
Dan Fyall opened the scoring after 13 minutes in the rearranged game after last week’s postponement. Ben Johnstone then converted a penalty six minutes before the break to give Queens a two goal lead at the interval. Josh Kelly rounded off the scoring and secured the win with another spot kick in the final stages of the match.

Coach Eddie Warwick said “We are glad to get back into competitive action. We kept busy over the festive period with training and friendlies but it’s great to get the more meaningful fixtures started again.
It was a good win and there were a lot of positives to take from the game but also plenty to work on in the coming days for the lads.”
The U19s are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Islecroft to face Dalbeattie Star in the first round of the Challenge Cup.
