Match Preview v Montrose - 27th Sept

Sep 26 2025 12:39

We are back on the road tomorrow as we head north to face Montrose at Links Park.

The hosts are on a good run of form and are unbeaten in their last six outings, with five wins and a draw. While we go into the game on the back of three defeats after three wins in the same number of games. We currently sit sixth in the table two points ahead of tomorrow’s opponents who are a place below.

In the last meeting between the sides goals from Adam Brooks and Jordan Allan helped us to a 2-1 victory at Palmerston in April, while on our last visit to Montrose we also claimed the three points with a 3-0 win, the goals that day coming from Brooks, Harry Cochrane and Fraser Brydon.

Ahead of the game, Manager Peter Murphy said “Tuesday night against Hearts B was not good enough, the mistakes we made and the manner in which we finished the game were disappointing. We should not be losing when we are two goals up. But we go again, it’s an away game against a team who are always good, Stuart Petrie's got them really well drilled. So, we'll go up there, we know we'll be in for a really tough time, we've got to make sure that we're ready for the fight, our character's there, and we all stand up to that fight as well as we want to try and get back on a run.”
