The young 18's/ Reserve side made it 4 wins from 4 as they contiued their fine form against Stranraer Reserves. Last night a young Queens reserves made the trip to Stranraer in the Potts Cup semi final. The game got off to a blistering start with the young side scoring 2 goals within the first 8 minutes, through Billy Gray and Peter Mendy as Queens started in an aggressive maner. Shortly after, a fine effort struck the post and came back out forcing a brave block from the Stranraer goalkeeper, this would have put the tie to bed within 15 minutes. However Stranraer grew into the game and the Queens backline struggled with the direct balls in behind. As a result, just after the 30 minute mark, Stranraer pulled one back to make it a nervy end to the first half for Queens. The second half saw Stranraer looking to press the issue looking for an equalizer. However the game resulted in end to end action with no team making the most of their chances. In the end a a fine goal from a set piece routine, orchestrated by Euan Ross and finished by Euan Ross, put the result beyond doubt and the young side will look forward to playing a very much in form Lochar Thistle in the final.
