New Deal For Charlie

There is more good news for the club as Charlie Cowie becomes the third local player to sign a contract extension.

The 17 year old goalkeeper has been part of our Academy programme through all the age groups since joining from Greystone Rovers as an 11 year old. He made his first team debut when he was just 16 at the end of last year, keeping a clean-sheet in our 2 - O victory over Raith at Starks Park.

Charlie has agreed a two year deal as part of our apprenticeship scheme which is partly funded by the Barflies Supporters.

On signing the youngster said “I have been at the club for a wee while now as an Academy player so I’m delighted to keep that going with a two year apprenticeship. Making my debut for the first team is something I will never forget and I will continue to work hard, keep learning and enjoy being part of my home team squad”.

Manager Allan Johnston said “Charlie is a great young lad. He was thrown in at the deep end for the first team last season and was outstanding. That was probably the game that kick started our push for the top four. He showed that he wasn’t phased to play in big games so he deserves a new deal”.
