Pre Season Ends with Another Win

Queens completed their pre-season build up with another home win, their fifth to go along with last Saturday's loss at Airdrie. Tonight we were again playing Dalbeattie at Palmerston in a game primarily arranged to get more game time for Stephen Dobbie and Joe McKee before the competitive action starts on Tuesday. We are grateful to our friends at Dalbeattie for agreeing to visit for the second time in a fortnight and for moving the game back 24 hours when it became necessary to host Stranraer yesterday.

It was a predominantly young Queens side augmented by Dobbie and McKee but they took an 2-0 lead thanks to the captin and Niyah Joseph. Star pulled a goal back with a penalty before the break but in the 2nd period a Trialist added a 3rd before Dobbie grabbed the 4th from the penalty spot. Niyah Joseph then added two more to complete his hat trick and a 6-1 victory.

We now start the Betfred Cup with a trip to Morton and then home matches against St Mirren and Partick Thistle in a difficult group.
