Queens made the trip from the south-west to the north-east to take on Peterhead knowing that a point would secure their place in the top four. Manager, Peter Murphy made two changes to the starting eleven from last weeks game at home to Cove with Jack Stott and Ben Johnstone coming in for Liam Smith and Jordan Allan who dropped to the bench.
With a seven-point gap between the sides, the hosts needed a win to keep their hopes of making the play-offs alive and they made a good start to the game. Jamie Sneddon reacted well to get down to push clear Josh Kerrs right foot effort after six minutes.
The home side were forced into making two changes in the opening fifteen minutes due to injuries for Peter Pawlett and Josh Kerr, it didnt unsettle them too much and Kieran Shanks turned before hitting a right foot shot wide.
Midway through the half, Queens started to get more forward and a short free-kick by Kai Kennedy to Benji Luissint found its way back to the winger on the right-hand side and as he whipped the ball in to the box, it was just out of reach for Brennan Dickenson.
On the half hour mark Kennedy cut in from the wing before hitting a left foot shot towards goal but Danny Strachan headed out for a corner. As the ball was played back in Dickenson rose but the ref awarded a free-kick against him.
It was a good spell for Queens and as Reece Lyon got the break of the ball, he made his way forward but Flynn Duffy managed to block as the midfielder tried to square it where Dickenson and Nicky Clark were waiting.
The home side finished the first half strong and Craig McGuffies corner was headed clear before Niall McGinn hit a good curling shot towards the top corner but Sneddon saved to keep it goal-less at the break.

Smith came off the bench for the second half to replace Stott and straight away he made his way down the left and kept the ball low as he played it into the box but Lyons shot was just wide of the post. Six minutes later, Lyon had another chance when Kennedy crossed from the left but he missed at the back-post.
It was positive from Queens after the interval and Mikey Hewitt headed wide as he got on the end of Kennedys set-piece. As they continued to threaten, Luissint stung the palms of Jack Newman with a right foot strike from distance.
The hosts started to work their way back into the game and as McGinn got away from Matty Douglas, Luissint got back to cover and clear as he set-up a chance for McGuffie.
On the hour mark, Lyon hit a shot way over the bar before Newman made a double save from Hewitt. And at the other end, Lyon made a well-timed challenge inside the box as Shanks lined up to shoot.
With twenty minutes to go, the game was halted as a pitch invader, a border collie dog looked to get involved before being evicted from the stadium.
The game resumed and a short time later, Hewitt put his body on the line to block from Rob Jones but within sixty seconds the home side took the lead. Seb Mason gave away a needless free-kick that was floated in by McGuffie and Jason Brown controlled on his chest before hitting it across the box to McGinn who was unmarked at the back-post to head home from close range.
Queens pushed for a leveller and Clark tried an over-head kick before Lyon was wide with his effort. It looked like top four security was going to have to wait for at least another week, captain Douglas again came up trumps with a header two minutes from time. Hewitts throw-in was cleared from the 18-yard area by McGuffie but only as far as Kennedy who lifted the ball over the top to where the defender jumped to send the ball into the net to draw Queens level and pick-up the point they needed.
