Since it opened the Queen of the South Arena has proved popular with not only supporters of the club but the wider community. The continued success of the indoor facilities at Palmerston Park has led to the club being able to announce an increase in hours the pitches will be available to book as well as the recruitment of further staff and extended opening hours for the cafe.
Speaking on behalf of the club, commercial manager, Victoria Thomson said "The success of the business has been phenomenal, with the pitches at the arena fully booked most nights from 4pm onwards. Due to such a demand the club have extended the hours, adding an addition bookable slot between 9.30pm - 10.30 pm.
And with the number of people, using the facilities, the club feel it`s important to provide a complete service, and have arranged for the cafe to open longer - this facility will now be available until 8pm, Monday to Friday.
The other positive to come from the extended opening hours, is the creation, by the cafe, of two additional staff positions".
As well as two indoor football pitches and the coffee shop, the arena is also home to the Club Shop, where people can buy Queen of the South merchandise, the popular FBM Training Club, a hair dressers and a beauty salon.
