u19's Update

New u19s coach Eddie Warwick has returned to the club after a 6 year absence working overseas and locally . He will be working with Neil sturrock this season in the new u19s league set up

The u19s are currently midway through there pre - season programme so far they have played two matches with many training sessions at Palmerston in between games.

After 2 weeks of the training schedule the face Threave Rovers u20s in a friendly at palmerston and ran out 4-0 winners goals coming from josh kelly x2 , billy gray x2

Just on the weekend they travelled to play lowland league senior side albion rovers

Which overall was a good performance from the youngsters but unfortunately loosing 4-2 goals coming from euan ross, harry mclinden.

Looking ahead the u19s again are in action thursday night pre- season game 3 up against stranraer reserves at Palmerston 7.30ko

 

Only our third pre season game and up against a tough opposition

Billy gray opened the scoring from the penalty spot after good work from trent chapman who was fouled in the box . 1-0

Josh kelly then produced two fine finishes midway through the first half to give queens a 3-0 lead - billy gray , kylan hunter , matty hall, rhilay walls all involved in good build up play for josh kellys two goals.

HT 3-0

Three changes at halftime saw the home side take 5-10 minutes to settle into the second half and conceed there first goal in the game bringing the scoreline back to 3-1 

Shortly after the Stranraer goal hunter walls and gray again were all involved in putting josh kelly through on goal who produced a sublime finish for his hatrick of the match.  Stranraer kept pushing and were rewarded with another 2 goals  and the scoreline sitting at 4-3 until callum hill from left back was played through to finish low past the goalkeeper inside the bottom corner.

Well worthwhile exercise for both team and a competitive match. FT 5-3 qos.

Sunday they travel up to Nithsdale Wanderers for the annual Jim Kerr Memorial cup match to then return back home at Palmerston thursday 24th against lowland league senior side Gretna 2008 with a 7.30 kickoff also.
