QOS Tanner Fund Update

It’s been a few months since the QOS Tanner Fund launch and we are pleased to report that the Tanner Fund Committee are delighted with the response so far. Chairman Richie Nicoll said “Since the signing of the pledge we have had an amazing last few months and the Tanner Fund really has flourished”.

With the Fund up and running, Richie recently held a meeting with Club Chairman Billy Hewitson and Director Mark Blount to discuss the next steps towards the Fund being utilised. After a very successful discussion all parties agreed that it would be best to keep building the Tanner Fund and re-visit the use of the funds during the transfer window in January to allow the club the opportunity to bring in fresh faces if required.

Richie added “I had a really good discussion with Billy and Mark and I’m delighted with the Board’s commitment to the fund. We agreed that utilising the funds come January definitely is a better scenario and I look forward to meeting the Board again then. This gives us more time to enlist many more fans between now and then and provide the club with as much financial support as we possibly can”.

“We currently have around 75 members which is fantastic but between now and Christmas, we would love to make it at least 100. Can we do it? I absolutely believe we can. We have a couple of businesses signed up and would love more to join in. It’s a good advertising opportunity via all of our social media platforms. I want to thank the current members for their amazing contributions so far and really want to push on to that amazing 100 member mark.”

The Board said “We are very grateful to Richie and his Committee for the work they have put into setting up the QOS Tanner Fund. In these uncertain times, it really is important to have the support of the fans. We appreciate the help that has been given so far through the purchase of season tickets but as we head into the new campaign and the prospect of having no gate money for a substantial period of time, it is reassuring that we have the Tanner Fund to call upon come the turn of the year to help boost the Manager’s playing fund. The membership so far is encouraging and we can’t thank you all enough. The hard-work put in by Richie and the Committee to get this off the ground deserves backing and we hope that the loyal Queens support will continue to get behind the Fund and help them reach their target number”.

The QOS Tanner Fund has two streams of donation. Fans can pledge a monthly donation of a fixed sum (within their individual capacities) via Direct Debit or there is also a Go Fund Me page where people can make one off donations.
