Match Preview v Dumbarton (H) - 28th Sept

We welcome Dumbarton to Palmerston tomorrow for the first of back to back home games.

Stevie Farrell’s side have already made the trip to Dumfries this season in the group stages of the Premier Sports League Cup. Back in July we ran out 2-0 winners after Leighton McIntosh gave us an early lead and Kieran McKechnie doubled the advantage just before the hour mark.

In the league, they currently sit second bottom on six points, just ahead of Arbroath on goal difference.

Ahead of the match tomorrow, Manager Peter Murphy said “The players put everything into the game against Stenhousemuir last week and dominated for long spells but in the end we had to settle for a point.

draw away from home isn’t a bad result but we felt the effort that the boys put in and the chances we created merited the three points. We again put our bodies on the line for each other and kept another clean sheet which is pleasing.

Results at home have been good in the league so far and if we can keep winning them and picking up something on the road then we will continue to take the club where we want it to be.

This week’s opponents are a side we have faced already in the league cup so we know they’ll come down and make it difficult for us. But we are building confidence and are really starting to pull together for each other so it’s a positive club to be at, at the moment. We will take that out onto the park and hope to keep our home run going.

The club are trying hard to make it an enjoyable experience for supporters both on and off the park so let’s keep pulling together and take the club forward”.

We would like to remind supporters that letting off smoke devices is a criminal offence, and anyone found doing so will be referred to Police Scotland. Not only is it against the law, it is also extremely dangerous and a health hazard to other spectators. All bags will be searched and spectators presenting themselves for entry may also be subject to search. Spectators who refuse to be searched by stewards will be denied entry to the ground.

Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue; this includes e cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. No persons will be admitted to the ground who are deemed to be under the influence of alcohol.
