Dom Deal

Following the re-signing of Wullie Gibson, another local lad, Dom McMahon is the latest player to sign a contract extension.

Dom who was born in Dumfries and turns 20 later this month has agreed a further year.  The midfielder who is a pivotal member of our reserve side made the step up to the first team squad last year.

Dom is the first of this season’s players to  sign for the first team under our apprenticeship scheme that is partly funded by the Barflies Supporters Group.

On signing Dom said “Being a Dumfries boy I know just what the football team means to the fans so to be part of the first team squad is great for me.  I made the step up last season and hope that I can continue to progress and become a regular”.

Manager Allan Johnston added “Dom is a good young lad with a lot of potential.  He has impressed in the reserve side and has had no problem making the move up to join the first team so I am happy he has agreed a new deal”.

The Barflies continued their support of the club with a £9000 donation at the start of the pandemic.  We would like to thank them for their annual contribution.

Further apprenticeships will be announced in due course.
