Match Preview v Dunfermline

Football continues at Palmerston tomorrow when we have the second of back to back home games as we take on Dunfermline in the Championship.

The Pars were the visitors for our first home game of the campaign back in August when Gary Oliver scored after the break to cancel out Kyle Turner’s first half opener in a one all draw. Our last meeting was in November when we travelled to East End Park and lost 2 – 0, after a goal-less first half Ryan Dow and Kevin Nisbet scored to give the home side the win.

As he prepares to take on his former club, manager Allan Johnston said “Last weekend’s game against Alloa was not good enough. Again the goals we lost were poor from our point of view. We are punishing ourselves with the mistakes we are making and we have to cut out the errors both individually and as a team. In this league in particular you can’t afford to let teams get crosses into the box or give players the space inside the area like we did against Alloa.

To get back level after being two goals down, we should’ve been taking something from the game. It’s frustrating because with the other results we could have been right up with the teams at the top end of the table.

This weekend, we take on a team that I of course know well; they have some good players, some dangerous players and will go into the game confident after a well-deserved win against Dundee last week.

However, we want to start climbing the table, this is our second home game in a row and we need to start making them count. In football no two games are the same so we move on and aim to get back on track”.

Supporters attending Palmerston should note:

Disabled parking is available on the north side of the BDS Digital Stand or at the Arena car park. The cost of entry of one personal assistant is included in the price of the ticket.

PARKING

We have received complaints from residents of Palmerston View about supporters using their private car park – we would ask supporters to refrain from doing so as car parking is available in the Queen of the South Arena car park next to the ground free of charge.

Supporters buses will NOT be allowed to park in the Arena car park, therefore it is requested that buses/minibuses drop off their passengers in Terregles St/King Street and thereafter park on College Mains Road just off the roundabout with the A76 on the town bypass (adjacent to Curry’s/PC World, as the other side at Aldi is the access road to the ambulance depot and is extremely busy). Pick up should be the same location.

ROADWORKS

There is currently a four way traffic control lights system around the stadium which is causing tailbacks at peak times so fans should factor that into their travel time to Palmerston Park. Supporters should also check the Traffic Scotland website at http://trafficscotland.org/index.aspx for any other possible delays.

FACILITIES

Catering outlets and toilets will be available for use throughout the ground. Toilet and catering facilities are also available in the Arena prior to kick off. The café within the Arena offers a full menu and the bar under the Gates Stand will also be open for refreshments.

CONDUCT

QOS have adopted a robust and thorough search policy for spectators entering the ground to ensure that ground rules and regulations are strictly adhered to, especially in relation to pyrotechnic devices and controlled containers. All bags will be searched and spectators presenting themselves for entry may also be subject to search. Spectators who refuse to be searched by stewards will be denied entry to the ground.

Palmerston Park is a non-smoking venue; this includes e- cigarettes and other such devices. Stewards are empowered to eject spectators who disobey these rules. Any person deemed to be under the influence of alcohol will be denied entry to the ground. This will be strictly enforced.

All spectators are required to abide by our acceptable behaviour policy and are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that doesn’t bring the club or supporters into disrepute.
