Ayr Preview

We are back on the road again tomorrow as we head to Ayr for our re-arranged game in the Championship.  Our results against the Honest Men have been good this season with a win and two draws giving us five points from nine.

Everyone will remember our first meeting back in September when Stephen Dobbie scored four of our five goals in a five - nil rout at Palmerston.  The other two games have ended in one all draws.  Connor Murray come off the bench to give us a share of the spoils at Somerset in November with Michael Moffat cancelling out Josh Todd's opener in December to earn a point for the visitors.

It will be our fourth game in ten days but we go into the game unbeaten in our last three matches having beaten Dundee United and drawn our games against Falkirk and Morton.

Queens boss Gary Naysmith has been sharing his thoughts with the website ahead of the game.

"We are still frustrated that we didn't take maximum points against Morton on Saturday. I felt our performance was good and we created plenty of chances, we had over twenty attempts on goal so we can be happy with that. If we carry that on into our remaining games, I'm confident we will pick up wins between now and the end of the season.  However, I do believe that the league is so tight that its going to go right to the wire.

With such a busy schedule its been all about recovery for the players over the past couple of days as we prepare for Ayr.

I can't say I was too unhappy that the original fixture was called off as its given us a chance to get some of the players who would've missed the game back.

Although they have slipped to fourth in the table and lost to Inverness on Saturday, its my personal opinion that Ayr have done enough and will be one of the teams in the top four.  Ian will have them fired up to make sure they finish as high up the league to gain advantage in the play-offs.  But we can't worry about anybody else, all we can do is focus on ourselves to make sure that we continue our unbeaten run and to pick up points as we aim to secure our safety and finish as high as we can.

We are without Nicky Low (groin) and Alan Martin (back) for the game and we will have to wait until nearer kick off before we know if Ky Jacobs will be fit after limping off with tightness in his hip on Saturday".
