Statement from the Club

It has been brought to our attention that one of our players was involved in an unacceptable incident during our game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the weekend.

We would like to place on record that Queen of the South FC will not tolerate such behaviour and can confirm that the matter is being dealt with internally.

We have also issued a reminder to all players and staff that as an employee of the Club, we expect them to behave in a responsible and appropriate manner, to respect people's opinions and to lead by example.

While we expect our employees to conduct themselves properly, we would also like to remind supporters that they to have to be responsible for their own actions and we will not tolerate abusive behaviour from them either.

Supporters should remember that players, management and staff are at their place of work and should not have to endure constant abuse. It is not accepted in other environments and will not be accepted at Palmerston.

While we understand frustrations can boil over when things are not going our way, we expect everyone to pull in the one direction and back each other for the good of the club. When times are tough we all need to stick together.

We already have a robust security policy in place but we will be speaking to our security team to make sure that it is enforced and anyone found to be in breach of the regulations will be dealt with in the appropriate manner.

With football currently under the microscope across the UK for unsavoury incidents involving supporters, we are issuing this statement in an attempt to cut out bad behaviour before it escalates at our club as we don't want to find ourselves dragged into the debate.

Queen of the South are a family club and we would like to maintain the good reputation that we have.
