Montrose Preview

We face another long trip this weekend when we head back to Montrose, this time in the third round of the William Hill Scottish Cup. We visited Links Park just last month in the Irn-Bru Cup where we came away with a three - one win.

Manager Gary Naysmith has been taking a look ahead to tomorrow's visit to the league two side:-

"The Scottish Cup is always special and there is no doubting that this is a big game for us with a lot at stake. We want to go as far as possible in every cup competition but with the Scottish, the further you go the bigger the revenue is for the club, if we can progress and bring in money it gives us the chance to strengthen the squad in January for the run in to the league campaign.

Having been up to Montrose recently, we know what to expect and hopefully that will help us this time as we now know their formation, the way they like to play and of course their strengths, they played very well in the first half the last time but I'm sure we won't start as badly this time.

The players have again trained well this week and are over the disappointment of missing out on a place in the semi finals of the Irn Bru cup. We do still feel aggrieved that we didn't win the game at TNS but this is an opportunity to put that right.

Jason Kerr who missed last weekend will again be missing as he's on loan from St Johnstone, the same goes for Chris Kane. We will also be without Dan Carmichael who is still injured, apart from that everyone else is available and ready to go".

The cup tie has a 3pm kick off at Links Park.

Those travelling on buses should note that there will be no parking at the ground and therefore buses should not enter Wellington Street. There will be parking available at the nearby Mid-Links.
