Match Preview - Morton 16th September

Its a rare home game, at the moment, on Saturday and manager Gary Naysmith spoke ahead of the match

After three successive away games it's nice to be at home.

Thankfully so many games on the road hasn’t affected our form and I have been pleased with the results we’ve got on our travels. The most recent game at Livingston saw us get a single point but if I am being honest, I felt that was just about right. We couldn’t get ourselves into the game for the first two-thirds and Livingston were the better team but we stuck at it, tweaked things a wee bit and got back into it.

After wins against Dumbarton, Falkirk and Brechin, that represents a fairly solid start to the season and already the Championship is proving to be very tightly contested with just four points separating the top five in the table.

I have been particularly pleased with our goals return – we’re finding the net regularly and, just as satisfying, we are sharing the goals around.

This weekend we welcome Morton, they will come full of confidence after last weekend’s dramatic win against Dunfermline. To come back from two goals down and snatch a victory deep into stoppage time will have given all their players a big lift and we’ll need to be on our toes from the first whistle today if we want to get another positive result.

The run of away fixtures has not only been challenging for the players, but have also provided difficulties for our supporters so we really appreciate your backing and hope that many more will turn out to get right behind the boys against Morton and help keep us in the mix at the top end of the table.

With no fresh injury concerns the squad will be along the same lines as last week with Alan Martin returning to the squad following illness
