Congratulations to our neighbours at Gretna FC 2008 who made the very long trip to Deveronvale on Saturday and won 3-0 in the Scottish Cup First Round. They will go into the hat for the second round draw tonight along with Annan Athletic.
We currently have four players out on loan at Gretna and granted them permission to use Jack Brannan, Connor Murray and Richard Murray in the Cup, though in the end Richard did not travel due to injury. Jack and Connor though did play along with our Community Officer Danny Armstrong, who kept a clean sheet, and former centre half Jack Dickinson. Another ex Queens player, Dylan Neill, was on the bench. Permission to play our No 3 goalkeeper Jack Leighfield was not given in case we need him later in the competition.
We wish them the best of luck, and a shorter journey (!), in the next round.
Elsewhere in the First Round, Dalbeattie Star were beaten at home by Wick Academy
