Last weekend’s win over Alloa was just what we needed – it was important for us to get back to winning ways and hopefully it’s the turning point for us in terms of the way our season will pan out as it hasn't panned out the way we wanted so far.
Ahead of the game, people would have looked at the table and expect it to be easy but they have really improved under Jack Ross and done well recently. In certain games during the first half of the fixtures we’d probably have lost or drawn the game as we’ve let ourselves down against the teams below us in the table. So with that in mind we were pleased to get the win and to keep a clean sheet.
We stood up to the test and although we know there is still plenty of room for improvement it was progress and hopefully we can build on it and kick on. Confidence is a funny thing, so this is where the professionalism comes into play.
We have again worked hard this week, the boys attitude has been good ahead of a massive game at Raith. Due to the way results have gone recently, we are now level on points and well within touching distance. This game ahead of back to back matches against St Mirren will shape or season. We go into the game knowing that a win would move us ahead of them in the table and into that all important fourth place.
We’ve clawed them back, so hopefully we can go and put on a performance get a win that will turn our season. There is still a long way to go and there will be other teams challenging so we need to concentrate on ourselves.
If you work hard, have the right attitude and application, then more often than not you will go on and win games. The boys show all of it in training every day – so we just need to make sure we take it from the training park onto the pitch and go out and show that we can do all sides of the game.
In terms of the squad, we are still missing our captain, Chris Higgins with the ankle injury he picked up at Dumbarton. And although they continue to push to get back into contention, Calum Tapping and Dale Hilson, who is back running are still a wee bit away from being ready to be included in the squad.
